I2P From Idea to Metal 3D Printing project

The I2P project aims to help companies in the manufacturing industry in the Northern Calotte and northwestern Russia to convert to production via 3D printing. The project is funded by the EU's Kolarctic CBC program.

The project is a collaboration between the universities of Luleå, Oulu, Finland, Tromsö, Norway and Arkhangelsk, Russia. It is a continuation of the project "C3TS" where the same actors were given funding to spread knowledge about the new manufacturing method.

The European Commission has suspended the participation of the Russian Federation in the implementation of the cross-border cooperation programmes between the European Union and Russia, starting from March 3, 2022. The project will continue without the Russian partners, with RDI-actors and companies from Finland, Sweden and Norway working together.

The project began in late 2019 and ended at the beginning of 2023 with a budget of approximately 1 M€ (SEK 10 million). The main financier is the EU via Kolarctic CBC program.
